I suppose a lot depends on when you are planning on going and what type of holiday you want.
Argentina isn't really the place to go if you want a romantic beach holiday.....unless you want to share it with thousands of others on a crowded beach in Mar del Plata.

You need to provide a lot more information in order to get meaningful answers. Otherwise, just take her to Paris, which many people call "the Paris of Europe."

Like, how much money are you prepared to spend? Do you have a visa for Brazil? Does she have a tourist visa for the US?

Yes if she's never been then that would be the most obvious place to go as long as you stay in a decent hotel......and not the dive we stayed at.

Bariloche is also worth considering, again spending an extra few quid on some luxury accommodation to make the stay more memorable if the weather isn't behaving itself.

If you want a hot sun and beach type holiday then you'll need to head further up the continent for that.

Hotel foz do Iguacu sold to us as a 4 star and ended up being more 2 star. Dirty horrible place with the odd cockroach running about. This was last century although I see the reviews on TA are still rather mixed.....the person that gives it 5 stars and says "historic hotel in beautiful grounds" has definitely got it mixed up with somewhere else....or is really the manager.

I suspect with the increase in foreign tourism since those days they might just have improved it by half a star.
We still had a great time at the falls but we were ripped off by our local travel agent and told her so when we got back.
