... BTW, the actual departure tramite, which includes another photo and thumbprint, took just a tad longer, if at all, than the old way.

I transited shortly thereafter. My agent at immigration took about 5 minutes to process me - lots of mousing around before she even scanned my passport, and then looking at every page of my passport (twice), before she found the entry stamp.

Another data point:
I arrived this morning on Delta, and stepped off the plane at 8:18am. At 8:28am I was on the street getting into my car. This was a record for me.
There was no waiting at immigration, but the process still took a few minutes. For the first time some 6 or 8 pages of my DNI was scanned, in addition to my passport.
I had no bags to claim, and there was no waiting through customs.

Light speed

I left my apartment at 5pm in Retiro, at 6:05 I was sitting in the admirals club. It had something to do with the crazy taxista jaja. Seriously this is the fastest I have ever left BA.

It took longer for the chica to go through my passport and find the entry stamp than anything. I have a double extended passport.

Why can't they be somewhat organized about where they stamp? They like to use a fresh page every time. Que quillombo!

Someone told me in the passing that the DNI book is to be phased out and it'll just be the laminated card in future.

Correct.... only laminated drivers license type cards in the future.

It took 35mins from touchdown to getting to my taxi earlier this month. 7.30am arrival. Short queue at immigration and the baggage scanners.

One tip, when they ask for the name of your hotel, if you're not staying at a chain, have the name address written down. She hadn't heard of my small boutique hotel before. Also the person before me was staying with friends and he had to get out their address.
