Aerobus (EZE transfers)
http://www.aerobusezeiza.com.ar/
Does anyone here have any familiarity with this company? It is convenient to where I go, seems to be non-stop, and is cheap. (And EZE never looked so good as it does on their website!) |
I don't see a English link so I assume it's aimed at the local market rather than for luggage laden tourists. Certainly is a great price.
We now use a combi van company to get into Buenos Aires when visiting for the day. Great advantage is they are much faster than the coach companies who stop several times along the way. The combi also picks us up and drops us off at the house door. It has several drop off points in the centre of BA instead of going to Retiro which is also a big bonus. Only disadvantage is they are pretty cramped compared to the luxury seats of a coche cama service. That isn't a problem for this short service from EZE though. I would certainly use it although I just wonder where they put your luggage....the one we use only has a couple of feet inside the back door. A couple of small suitcases and the space would be gone. |

Wow... that price is certainly hard to beat.

Has anyone here yet used this service?

Wow, US$4 is dirt cheap. I used Tienda Leon last week, and it was 45 pesos each way, or 85 pesos RT.
I might try them next month when I go back to the US. 100-128 pesos for a cab is ridiculous. |

Not really, considering the distance and tolls.

Quite a bold statement... I assume you have the numbers on this and you are not just expressing a "sensation"...? |

Sure. What do I win? A paid weekend in a suite at the Hyatt? :)
Inflation is a problem in Argentina, but Taxis continue to be outstanding value for money, especially if you do your math in USD's. If you go do the numbers, you will find that taxi fares have not kept up with the real rate of inflation.... so, sorry to say this but you are simply wrong. |

I travel 180-200 days a year. I take taxis quite often. In the dozen countries I visit regularly, none have increased the same percentage as Argentina. In the end it comes down to the fact that Argentina is no longer the great deal it was 5-6 years ago. This is to be expected, of course, after the problems in 2002/2003. Is it cheaper than NYC? Of course. Is it the best location for a value minded traveler? Probably not. |

Sure, I can use the official Argentinian government inflation figures, right?

Buenos Aires is not working towards being the Mecca of value minded tourists. Select destinations in other parts of South America, South East Asia and Africa are after that market... the model of Argentina as a travel destination is targeted elsewhere. |
