EWR A Terminal/Pier 1 UC lounge closed
For those flying AC from EWR, note that the United Club in Pier 1 has been closed since November 11th so the one in Pier 2 is the only lounge available nearby the AC gates in Pier 1. Of course this will require clearing security twice since UA has also stopped running its airside shuttle bus between Piers 1 and 2 (and onward to C Terminal). No indication that AC will take over the empty lounge (as at LGA) and turn it into a MLL. There are now no UA flights from Pier 1 and it's also unlikely AC will be moving its gates to Pier 2 or C Terminal.

I was there last week and used the UC in A before my flight to CLT
Both the shuttle from C and the UC were open
Terminal A is tiny and offers very few options. The lines I've seen at A through the narrow hallway are aweful and if this is permanent, I'd avoid EWR as much as possible which is too bad because I liked it as an easy global entry and quick flight back into Canada from Europe

Don't want to hi-jk thread ...... I've got some UA flights via EWR coming up ......
I'm Into C on UA, out of A on UAX. I see the UA CLub is still open and accessible in A
Terminal A >< Terminal C on UA requires re-clear of security? Can someone confirm?

Note that A Terminal has three piers: 1, 2 and 3. Each has its own security and there is no airside link between them. AC operates from Pier 1 where UA also used to have flights. However, UA has consolidated its A Terminal flights in Pier 2. (AA and US share Pier 3 and there is an Admirals Club there.) There is still a UC in this pier, and the shuttle runs from this pier to C Terminal. The airside shuttle used to run from Pier 1 to Pier 2 in A Terminal and then over to C Terminal where UA operates most of its flights. It now no longer does a Pier 1 stop which isolates AC's gates. (Southwest and Jet Blue have now taken over the balance of Pier 1.) Hope this clarifies the previous two posters' posts.
