Continental Miles to Amtrak points?
Hello Flyertalk, this is my first post, so, uh, go easy on me.
I've been reading that people would use Amtrak Guest Rewards to convert Onepass miles into Mileage Plus miles, so I figured it was possible to convert Onepass miles to Amtrak points. I've been searching on both releveant websites, and while it seems I can use Amtrak points for Continental travel, I can't do it the other way around? Am I wrong? Are there any other ways to use airline miles (besides Midwest) for amtrak travel? Thanks for your responses. |
Call the Continental One Pass Service Center at (713)/952-1630 (6:30am to 8:00pm Central). Have your Continental and Amtrak account numbers and your Continental password ready. They will move miles to Amtrak in 5000 point increments. The transfer should be accomplished within 10 days.
By the way, you can no longer transfer Amtrak points to United. |

By the official rules, the CO acct. outbound & the AGR acct. inbound must be in the same person's name. However, my friend transferred successfully out of his CO acct. into my AGR acct.! :) Only 4 days--Thu. to Mon.!

I just called Continental and was told I couldn't transfer miles from OnePass to Amtrak Guest Rewards. Does anyone know if this is still possible?

I tranferred CO points in January
... so I'm guessing it was just an uniformed service rep. I'd try calling again.

I also just did this a couple of weeks ago (CO-->AGR). The only problem I could think of is if the poster didn't have the minimum number of miles required (5,000).

I just called Onepass Service Center at 800-554-5522 and, after about 8 minutes with annoying hold announcements, I spoke to an agent who quickly took care of the transfer of 25,000 miles after I gave her my wife's Onepass account number, PIN number and her Amtrak Guest Rewards number.
