Can you confirm that bar service has begun at the Metropolitan lounge?

rittenhousesq and River in Sight, thanks so much for the Acela F updates. I'll sincerely mourn the loss of the Dogfish 90, but the Space Dust IPA is hardly a bad alternative.

The Dogfish 90 lives on in the Cafe Car! (https://www.amtrak.com/content/dam/p...-Menu-0821.pdf) — if you're willing to pay $8.50 for it I guess

You know you can buy a pint can of Delirium in the deli at Penn near the old Amtrak waiting area.
https://www.delirium.be/en/beers/delirium-tremens Much better! I'm heading over there later today for an Acela trip. :) |
I'm in business class today, but I could look up from below and see all the cubbyholes behind the bar that they said would be filled with bottles, were in fact empty. So I saw no point in using a Club pass. Maybe next month the bar will be open.

Thanks. Good to know. A couple of Dogfish 90s and it might be difficult to walk back from the cafe car! Odd they wouldn't also still offer it in F if it's provisioned elsewhere.

My understanding is that they are still waiting for their liquor license, but as soon as it is approved they're ready to go. I hope I'm right!!!

In spite of multiple attempts, they can't reach anyone to even find out the status of their application,

It has been some time since I have lived in New York, so I might be wrong, but my recollection is that matters relating to liquor licenses are handled at the state level by the N.Y. State Liquor Authority, and not by the NYC government.

On Acela to Boston and they now have La Colombe coffee (hot).

I’m not sure if this is where we’re still keeping this information, but here’s the current menu. I had the chicken which was about as good as I would expect for an airline/train meal. Good service.

I am in Acela First right now and the menu is different. I was thinking about the Shrimp Crab cake offering, but chose the Chicken Biryani instead. It was both spicy and delicious.
My train was fully sold out between NYP and PHL, but it's only about half full now for the rest of the way. I got the last seat and it was at a 4 seat table. The four of us ended up having a great conversation which made the trip go by very fast. But they got off at PHL and WIL so I'm alone now with my Old Fashioned. :) |
