Why not open a free Everyday card to preserve your rewards balance until you need it?

Everyday cards participate in Membership Rewards. A card which earns cash rewards will not help you.

Everyday is the name of a specific card. It is not Blue, it does not earn cash rewards. If you click the link in post 90 you could read about it. It looks like this:
http://www.jeffsetter.com/wp-content...s-Everyday.png Since it will be new inquiry I won't go for it. Also since the number of cards you can get from Amex are much less than Chase, I wouldn't waste a card this way. I'll rather transfer my points to Delta or something like that and close the card. Or wait, I just signed up for $25 credit for spending $50+ on Shop and Smart (limit 3 credits), that's $75 alone. These kind of offers combined with $200 travel credits make me rather keep the card. |
AMEX Rewards transfer partner advice
I have 550k rewards points accumulated over years on my Amex Gold card. I just signed up for the Citi Prestige so the Citi card will be my main card now.
I don't want to pay the Amex Gold card fee as it will not be my main card anymore. I am thinking of cancelling my Amex but need to figure on what to do with my rewards points. Any thoughts. I was saving for 2 first class tix but this trip would not be taken for at least 3 years. Any advice on what to do? |
Get the Amex EveryDay Credit Card (no annual fee) and store your points there until needed?

As such it may be beneficial to transfer to programs such as AC or DL, and book through their partners. |
MR Transfer
1) Can u transfer to my spouse?
2) I wanted to add other FFs to my MR account: - I only found Delta - so I linked - but I did not see United or AA - how can I transfer into those? Thanks |
You cannot directly transfer from MR to UA or AA without going through another intermediate (usually at a huge penalty). What you see in terms of transfer partners is what you get.

You cannot transfer points to anyone else's Membership Rewards account. |
