Getting seat assignment for basic econ non- elite passengers
Hi All -
I have a gold status with AA which allows me to select seats during booking for anyone in my party even though it is basic econ tickets.
If I log in as myself to AA, but purchase basic tickets for others and I am myself not flying, can I choose their seats?
Any input is appreciated.

No, if you were flying with them it would be another story.
If you were booked on the same PNR you could choose everyones seats at once, if booked separately you could phone or message in and have AA seat them nearby and they would gladly do so. As a gold at T-24 you would be able to get everyone MCE seats even, but only if you were travelling with them.
