I booked a flight from HND-LAX, expertlyer sent me the notification that there were at least 2 "C" seats available. Checked my reservation and no upgrade yet. I called AA and spoke to an agent who told me that there are seats available for SWU, but that I will still be waitlisted. However, if I had booked from HND-LAS (a more expensive fare, it shows that it was confirmable. So I Hung up and called again, asked agent why this might be the case, she had no idea but she was able to get us confirmed. Anyone else run into this? Also, I attached screenshots below that show no SWU and SWU for the same flight

I've had similar issues in the past where EF and AA showed "C" space to use a BXP1, when calling in the agent said "It would be waitlisted". After processing the instrument the upgrade went through. No clue where they get their information, but as Antarius stated, trust the system.

Just use EF and HUACA.
I'm guessing it's going off of the revenue bucket since they combined them (hopefully actually /s). Finding an agent who knows how to apply the SWU right in case of CDG/LHR luxury taxes can be difficult too, and they've made stuff up there as well.Originally Posted by Antarius
The AA SWU indicator is flaky. And AA agents like to make stuff up.Just use EF and HUACA.
