Seat map preview broken on website and app
It looks like on both aa.com and the American mobile app the seat map shows all Y seats full - looks like a bug on AA. It has been the case for at least a couple of days now. Hopefully they are aware and fixing.
Current workarounds are to follow through on the booking or use ExpertFlyer to see the real seat map. Maybe AA is pushing F so hard now that you can only see seats available on there? :D haha |

I've noticed this off and on for about 3 weeks actually. It's not consistent either. Sometimes I click and all the Y seats are sold, then 10 minutes later, I exit out and redo the search and the results show correctly.
And within a given search, the issue is usually for just some of the flights (not all of them) |

Glad it isn't just me. I've see it on the desktop, the tablet, and the phone app, for about a week. It works in the app for flights where I have reservations (the change seats button). I can always see FC everywhere but econ looks sold out. I haven't looked for a flight with prem econ.

Even weirder, while Y seats are shown as completely blocked out for a revenue ticket, yet for the same itinerary using miles, the Y seat map shows the available seats. IT is flipping out…

Same here. Have had to look on ExpertFlyer for seat maps.

When you book a flight, sometimes the seat map begins to work again. You can then cancel before payment.
