Contact Tracing Forms?

I'm flying back to the US in a couple of days and received an email from AA that I must complete contract tracing forms in advance of my flight or will be denied boarding.

Tried the link in the email on both my laptop and phone. Both go to to a blank white screen. Also tried the link from within my AA account. It goes to a blank white screen.

Not sure what to do. Has anyone run across this?

I'm a US citizen, passport, vaccinated, etc. All that info is showing up correctly. But I can't access this form.

I wouldn't worry at all, no idea if this crap is still technically required or not, but in any event they can take any necessary info at the airport.

On my last trip to the US in June I got the same email from AA, also clicked on the link and also got sent to a blank page. Didn't think anything else of it. When I got to the BA check-in desk (flying AGP-LHR-RDU) the agent asked me to write down my address on a piece of paper and proceeded to check me in with no issue. No clue whether she actually entered my address into any system or if it was just a formality.

Did you book when the requirement was still in place? Is it possible that AA's system sets up the reminder when you ticket, and now that the requirement is gone, the trigger is still in place?

I booked an international trip after the requirement ended, and was still asked for it. Couldn't check in for the return online or at the kiosk, had to check in with an an agent (who didn't ask at all about it), and was able to print my BPs.

Yes, just booked maybe 10 days ago. Have my fingers crossed everything goes ok. These small island airports can be persnickity.

I haven't tried to check in on line yet. I can't recall a time recently for international I was able to.

My other fish to fry, is the zipper on my large suitcase caught and broke in place an hour ago. I can barely open it wide enough on the other side to shove clothes in and out. Not sure how secure it's going to be. Guess I'll have to ask the resort for duct tape or something in the morning. Ugh.

Went to try to check-in online this morning, using the emailed link. Immediatly another pop up box comes up, saying I have to complete the contact link. Arrgghhh. Of course, figure it's going to go to a blank page again & I'll deal with it at the airport if I have to. But no -- this link took me to the actual form. Filled it out and it was accepted first try. Never mentioned at the airport.

Thanks everyone who responded. No idea what's up with this form, but it did seem to work through the 'time to check-in' email link, when everything else had failed.

Even more notable, I was then able to successfully check in online for the flight back to the states. It's been awhile since that worked for me.

Do you have a (sanitized) link handily available for anyone who finds this thread in the future (and also me)?

I'll check when I get back to my laptop, but I don't think it'll repeat, since I already checked in and flew.

I had to go through the link provided on my 'time to check in for your upcoming flight' email. Once I was into the reservation through the checkin link, there was a second link that popped up asking me to complete the contract tracing form. That was the link that successfully went to the form.

I have an expiring trip credit I need to use and may fly again next weekend. If I do and it happens again, I'll make note of the link.

Your browser might have it in history, but given the flow to get to it that you've described it likely won't work with a direct link. Thank you!

I’m still getting emails about this in 2024 🤔

My daughter is flying PRG-LHR-ORD BA-AA this week and she just receiving the contact tracing email. She was able to click the link and fill out the form no problem. The ticket was booked through AA in late April.

Still a thing for whatever reason.

I like to have a little fun with it though

I don't think it's going away anytime soon, I think they like the data to know where visitors are going. I've also come across airline staff who just fill it in with random information as they're really frustrated with having to ask for the info all the time.

I got the same form a few days ago returning from YUL. AA app wouldn't let me check in without it and no doubt if I didn't fill it in I would have had to go to the desk. Seems silly that I can't at least save a stock form which says I'm going to my home address every time as a US citizen.

Contact Tracing?

I just got an email from AA saying

The U.S. Government requires each passenger flying to the United States to provide complete and accurate contact information. Complete the contact tracing form now or you won't be allowed to check-in or board your flight.

I just flew with BA a month before and this wasn’t asked. And when clicking on the form to submit it says we can’t and says this

We are unable to retrieve your reservation with the information provided. Please verify your information and re-submit.

is this an error? I’ve never had to do this and the form is not working.
