Yes, you missed an announcement :) AA announced the details for Flagship Business Plus https://onemileatatime.com/news/amer...business-plus/ |

Good to know. For reference, Air France charges €500 for their LP ground handling (subject to availability and having flown paid LP in the last 12 months).
Pehraps this is a pre-cursor to business class becoming J-lite like Qatar has with the “classic” fares. This could be why the AA quote mentioned access to the arrivals lounge at LHR. |

Air France now charges 650 (and that’s in euro, not dollars) and that’s one-way. But it’s natural that this would be more expensive for AF than AA charges given how superior of an experience it is.

Exactly! AF actually cares about quality; AA does not. The day that AF follows AA you would know the end is near haha
My original point was that for slightly more $400 vs. €500), you’re getting exponentially more in return. I’m sticking with that despite the price jump. One could argue avoiding customs at CDG is worth a good chunk of the cost. |

First replaced by Premier? And what is Flagship Business Plus
Was looking at flights (MIA-EZE-MIA) and the options are Basic Economy, Main Cabin, Premium Economy, Business and Premier - there is "Flagship First" on a 77W and "Flagship Business Plus" on a 772 - which costs more than "Flagship Business" - they want 17K and 12K respectively - so no thanks. The return options have "First" as a heading again.
So is that the official beginning of the end of F? And what is the difference between Flagship Business and Flagship Business Plus on a 772? (well, the difference is $2150 - but other than that?) |
So premier is separate from business? Or business and business plus are under premier?
The difference between flagship business plus and flagship business is that plus gets you an extra checked bag and access to Flagship First Dining and Flagship First check in. Personally, I'd consider if it the price gap was $50. Anything more, I'd rather eat at a real restaurant. |
Premier is one to the right of Business - under Premier I can see Flagship First and Flgaship Business Plus.
$2150 extra for FFD and an extra bag seems steep |

You'll have more fun setting stack of money on fire. |

I’m gonna guess it’s for execs whose contracts specify “flies in the highest cabin” and whose travel planners are dopey as all hell.

I mean sometimes the difference between premium economy and business can be $7000 r/t. Is there really any point in discussing random data points on pricing differentials? Airline fares can be whacky, we get it.
