I have been involved in a similar situation on a TATL flight. Used the glucagon in the medical kit and once injected iv the person came to in a few minutes. In this case the flight was not diverted we only had a few hours left and she was able to drink oj and eat something once she came round. However, in the case of a trans pacific flight with an unknown quantity of insulin on board the safest option was to divert the flight.

People can do weird things when their sugar is out of balance. Total personality changes are not uncommon - I have seen normally sweet, kind, generous people become total shrews. Thought processes are skewed. People who are usually easy going become difficult and hard to handle. My uncle has more than once thought he didn't take his insulin when he did (or vice versa). One time he left work to go home and ended up crashing his car into a ditch 60 miles away in the opposite direction from his house. My aunt has heard non-existent choirs singing when her sugar is messed up.

All this to say don't judge someone by how they act when their sugar is out of balance.
