Any recent data points on transfer times from Hilton to AAdvantage?

Thanks!

This seems like a terrible use of points. Isn’t there a better way to get AA miles?

You’re not wrong. But I’m in a jam, need miles and don’t want to touch my wallet, and have enough HH points that I won’t miss them.

Hilton points are borderline worthless right now. Needed to top off my miles for an award ticket a few months ago and used Hilton points. I think it took about three days to post.

I would much rather have 100,000 Hilton points than 15,000 AA miles.

100,000 hilton points will get you a two-queen room in Searchlight, NV.

I’ve found that Hilton point redemption seems to be coming back around, and I’ve been finding some pretty decent deals. I’d still rather just save those for actual hotel stays rather than convert for miles, but if it works for you, go for it!

100,000 Hilton points will get you a standard reward at any Hilton hotel, with at least 5,000 to spare. 15,000 AA miles might get you a one way domestic flight with 2,500 to spare.

I appreciate the debate, but really just looking for data points here. Value is relative to the person using the instrument.

Come on! You are ruining all our fun! What is flyertalk for if not to debate the value of Hilton points in the American Airlines forum?
That said, you might not get many data points. Since it isn't that good of a value, it probably isn't very popular to do. Either way, good luck with you travels!

One of the benefits of HH points is you get nightly stay credit when you use points for your stay.
That's like getting EQS credit on AA for award flights
The HH to AA exchange rates sucks.........

I use 30,000 points for a night stay at a major university during football time when the going rate is $400-$450 per night. They have been a wonderful help with that.

I too am interested. I am 6000 miles away from getting a first class Etihad ticket and had points sitting in my Hilton account. The ticket is on hold until the 15th and I put the transfer in yesterday.

And 15,000 AA miles will get you a one way connecting through PHX, LIT, CLT, and PNS.

The bottom line is you have to have an unreasonably low valuation of Hilton (like two tenths of a penny a point) to think 1 AA mile is worth nearly 7 Hilton points.

I suspect if you want to sell Hilton at two tenths of a penny a point you could find brokers to take your action. Just not here because it's clearly against the rules.

I've never found Hilton's point transfers to be very timely, if by "in a jam" you mean "OMG, will this award evaporate on me while I wait for a transfer". Probably a matter of days but not instantaneous like Unlimited Rewards can be.
