Inbound plane arrived at MAN this morning.

I am going to make a guess that it was crew or mechanical.

Pilot was arrested and taken away in handcuffs by police. No idea why though. Heard from someone on board.

The Flight Status info on EF is also unusually quiet about the cause of the cancellation - usually there is a note about WX, ATC, CREW, MX, etc. Maybe there isn't a code for "pilot hauled away in metal bracelets" or maybe that's what "-XOP" means?

Code:
MAN 1105A 55
PHL CUST A20 220P
1FX CANCEL MAN -PHL -XOP *0656

Yes, he got arrested yesterday. He was drinking alcohol. He was charged with DUI. He could lose his license. That's not acceptable for his behavior. He will expect to lose his job. He will stay in jails for a while.

Is this a deep cultural reference or nuance of geography that is going way over my head?

what happens to the extra aircraft at MAN. If there was enough passengers would they run a extra section flight back to PHL.
