how long for oneworld to update my status.
 

I am currently AA-Gold (OW-Ruby). Just flew CX last Dec 23 which with that flight will make me AA-Platinum (OW-Saphire).
Wondering how long will it take for the system to update my status.
I will be flying out again in 24 hours and was hoping if i could use the benefits of OW-Saphire (lounge access).

Any input on this would be great. Thanks guys! :)

IME CX posts flights to AA on Saturdays then it was about a week before CX recognized my higher level status.

Has the CX flight posted to your AA account and it’s reflecting you as a Platinum?

If so maybe have your AA platinum card saved on your Apple wallet and try explaining at check in. I am not sure how “by the book” CX agents are or if they would recognize what is showing up on AA’s system.

I've had new statuses never update on existing reservations - so your best bet is to call the carrier and ask them.
Barring that - showing the digital card did get me into a lounge in Malaysia, but just barely.

I achieved Platinum back in October on my AA account. Previously booked a flight on CX metal (AA codeshare) ORD-HKG-BKK prior to Platinum and upon check in w/CX this week for the ORD-HKG leg, my status still wasn't reflected on the CX computer system. Fortunately, the check-in staff at ORD CX accepted my electronic Platinum card in my Apple wallet and granted me lounge invitations to both the BA lounge at ORD and to CX lounges in HKG.

Even on AA there are times when your status isn't updated on a reservation made under a previous status. That's rectified by calling and having them remove your FF# and then re-entering it. Not sure if this will help as you're waiting for CX to post.

anyone know how long it typically takes JAL flights to credit? the first leg of my trip next month will put me over the platinum threshold and would love to take advantage of ow sapphire benefits on my return flight. thanks!

Any tips on how this is handled how? Moved to PlatPro last week, but flight with Alaska is coming up so new status means better seat selection. The Alaska twitter team tried to remove my FF# and put it back in, but was getting the same status after 4 days of it being updated in the AA system. Does it take American a week (or more) to update status with oneworld partners? Any other tips?

Alaska flights are updated Tuesday’s at 1159 pm PST or wednesdays at 1201 am… on American. Whether this is when Alaska sends them to AA or when AA uploads them is anyone’s guess.

IF it’s when AA does their uploads perhaps you’ll have yours on Tuesday late night aka Wednesday early morning.

Several years ago I had a status change between two close flights so I called my elite desk and they were able to help. I'm not sure how they did it but the airport agents were able to see that I had transitioned from OW Sapphire to Emerald...and it was for a DCA-LAX-SYD-CBR flight so the change opened up the FLounge @ LAX for me.

Did this ever get resolved for you? I've been waiting for my AA Platinum status that I just received last Friday 5/6/22 to update in Alaska's systems. It's still showing my oneworld status on Alaska as oneworld ruby instead of sapphire, even when I had Alaska remove and re-apply my AA number on an existing reservation. Thanks.

Sorry you never got an answer, but I have the exact same question. How long did it take for Alaska to recognize new status? And did you have to do anything special?

Alaska is still thinking I'm Oneworld Sapphire as of today 9/14/22. I achieved AA Platinum Pro (which should be Oneworld Emerald) on 8/6/22, so it's been well over a month and my new status still hasn't been reflected in Alaska's systems yet. :( But in reference to my original post, at least it's showing Sapphire now instead of Ruby!
