Remove you ffn. Go back later and add again. For Oneworld manage my booking on Finnair AY, Royal Jordain RJ works for some people. And not for others.

Maybe I am a dunce, but I don't see an option on AS website or app to remove my FF program. The site has nothing clickable and the app says "Update your mileage program during check-in or by seeing an Alaska Airlines agent at the airport" - not so useful if I am trying to book a premium seat before they are gone! Or get on the upgrade list for that matter.

I'm having a similar problem with Alaska. I got OW Ruby (AA Gold) then made an Alaska reservation a couple of days later. I could not use any of my benefits such as exit row seats. After a couple of calls and a week later I convinced an Alaska agent to remove my FFN and reenter it. That helped and all seemed fine. Well a couple of weeks went by and I was the recipient of a schedule change. After selecting new flights I was back to not being able to select seats in the elite section. I did a chat session and was told that this is a known bug that they thought they had fixed. So they gave me the seat I wanted and then since my flight isn't until December to wait for the problem to be fixed.

I'm only going 3 hours in each direction so I'm ok with my seats. Hopefully the baggage allowance will work by then. I tried using the finnair website to manage my reservation but it could not be found.

Sigh...

That's why you use another airlines manage my booking with the PNR you have.

The chat didn't work for me, twice ended up being cut off after waiting 22 minutes and 29 minutes, respectively. May I ask what time of day/night did you chat? Trying to find an optimal time to chat.
I gave up calling AS. A lost cause!

Huh? What other airline? This message confuses me even more.

I am going to alaskaair.com, clicking "manage booking", and entering my PNR. The record pulls up, shows my AA number, but gives no option to change or remove it.

I'm pretty sure it was early morning (around 6am). I think it was the weekend but can't remember for sure.

For the benefits of others as a data point , I had AS try again removing and reapplying my AAdvantage number and it worked this time. So it did not work 2 days after AA reflected my new status, but did work 5 days after.

You can often manage a booking on one oneworld airline using the "manage my booking" feature on another oneworld airline's website, and certain airlines tend to offer more functionality than you might get from the airline you're actually flying. People often have success using the Finnair website or the Royal Jordanian. It doesn't always work, but it's usually worth a shot.

AFAIK that trick doesn't work for Alaska as they use a different reservation system - you will need to call in and ask them to refresh the reservation.

Interesting, I never knew that. I just checked though - it doesn't pull up on either of those sites or on AA.

Issue with AS updating and reflecting my new AA status
 
I am an AA member. I had AAPlatinum which is One World Sapphire. I booked two flights on Alaska using my AA number. It shows as OW Sapphire. Two days ago, I became AA Platinum Pro which gives OW Emerald status which allows for free premium seats on Alaska. I’ve had Alaska remove my AA number and add it back and they still show OW Sapphire. I also tried doing a new dummy booking to see if new reservations would show Emerald. Even the new booking I just did shows OW Sapphire. Does anyone know when Alaska receives update from AA and OW? I became Platinum Pro on 8/26 and want to get the new benefits on both of my upcoming flights.
