Done for the year:

EQD: 21,282 (actual spend notably less)
EQM: 191,051 (some "bank error in your favor" in there)
EQS: 92
(no credit card involved)

Most importantly: 10 for 10 on longhaul Y-->J SWU or BXP3 requests.

And around 80% success rate on domestic upgrades. Only two AA flights delayed more than 1-hour due to Ops/mechanical, and no missed connections due to anything other than weather.

Not much to complain about there - other than the incessant credit card pitches.

Currently sitting at:

EQD: $13,913
EQM: 97,918 (d'oh!)
EQS: 22

But barring catastrophe [spits, throws salt, turns around three times] will hit ~$16,000/110,000/25 by year's end. And with the boost to earnings on JAL, get to start the new year off right with another 16,000+ EQM on Jan. 1.

$600 to make gold...... Not worth it IMHO - but thats just me. You'll get most of the benefits with the credit card. Then spend $250 on MCE seats.

After the least PEK-LAX flight a week ago, I re-qual'd EXP. But, As #1 & 2 on UG list (on PE fare) on that flight, and failed to clear due to the PEK-DFW cancellation. Disappointed!

2018 has not been a good year for UG. About 50% domestic & 65% international long haul!

First time made it EXP !!
EQD : $15,084
EQM : 153,855
EQS : 86

One more segment left for the year.
0/1 on the SWU from LHR-ORD.
Almost 100% on domestic UPG. Enjoying my new found EXP status, hope to get there again next year.

EQD 4975 Miles 61,425 Segments 40

58 Upgrades in the bank and I never get upgraded - always put in for them. I have 1 million miles Gold for life - but I am thinking of changing airlines soon to whomever is going where i am faster and cheaper. Since flying 61k miles doesn't really get me anything special and this is the second year under the new rules that I don't get the perks of Platinum for flying so much loyally - might as well try a year looking at speed and price only and see how it goes.

Pretty sad to be offered upgrade to Plat for $1435 - when I already spent a lot on tickets and if I spend $1025 more on a ticket I would get it anyways. Certainly not worth it.

Hah, no. Actual miles flown this year was about half the EQM total. I normally book Y or J on Airpass, hence the high EQM total.
