I stand by my comment.
I just noticed I am unfortunately flying the 788 again on Wednesday back to Chicago. I booked this trip before last week so I wasn't able to change the flight based on equipment. If this plane goes out on time I'll throw a party.

The term for that is solipsism, you can look it up. These days more than ever, it is important to deal in statistically significant facts, rather than beliefs, anecdotes, personal testimony, "some say", etc. It is reasonable and common on FT to report anecdotes ("data points"), but not reasonable to keep insisting that they have special value because they happened to you.

I would tend to think that if there was some kind of over riding reliability issue with the 788/789 AA would be up Boeing's tail fin in a heartbeat. Mechanical delays cost airlines money and if a newer aircraft wasn't performing well AA would be seeking damages against Boeing.

Say what you want. We all fly a lot for work and when a certain type of equipment goes mx time after time I don't think my post was at all "hysterically overreacted".

As an extremely superstitious person, I think it might be Chicago that is jinxing your flights. I avoid Chicago airports whenever possible, even at higher expense. Yet, I might be completely off-base and downright wrong about this assumption.

Clearly enviroian has disturbed the Dreamliner spirits who live on Mt. Boeing, likely by referring to them as a bucket of bolts.

I think that you're on to something. To this day, I sacrifice a small offering of Admirals Club snacks to the upgrade gods when SWUs don't clear right away and I always ensure to avoid offending the IRROPS deities for good measure.

Just as in retail and casinos, sunlight takes you back to reality. Can't have a plane full of wide-awake passengers in the middle of the day now can we
