Paris to MRU / Mauritius using AA miles

Hi,

I've used the forums frequently over the years and after spending a few days going through the forums, I'm here in need.

I'm trying to get to MRU on 7/16 leaving Paris for 2x px in economy using AA. I called AA Australia and I've only gotten the caribbean call center. The route is suppose to be 30k but it's pricing at 50k due to the only route I'm finding is CDG>AUH>SEZ>MRU but they can't book for SEZ>MRU due to the no agreement with Air Seychelles. This route was found via Ethiad. I can hop over to London to do a flight into wherever on to MRU but the only ideal flight would be London or Paris>JNB>MRU but there aren't any operating flights on that day for JNB>MRU. Any suggestions would be helpful!!

Welcome to FlyerTalk.

I’d think that MRU would be a very difficult route to find award seats, given you are mimiyed to oneworld (which narrows it down to BA and it’s high award fees) or AA airline partners (which as you’ve found out Air Seychelles is not), and your lack of date flexibility.

Your tools are AA airline partner route maps, and the Innosked interactive oneworld route map here, as well as ITA and Google Flights. Be sure to read the Wikipost at the top of the page of https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/amer...ssistance.html.

Good luck.

JNB MRU is sat only.
LGW MRU is 3 times per week.

I dont know of any other partner fly to MRU (if EY does not, and it seems like it does not).
so. you wont be able to get there using BA miles. try star allaince? south african airline flies there only more than one flights per day.

Welcome! Regrettably it's not so welcoming that your first question isn't an easy one to solve given the limited OneWorld options but welcome to the FlyerTalk community anyway.

Start by working backwards to check what airlines fly to MRU
Then those airlines that can be used for AA awards.
Another option is an award somewhere and buying a cash fare for the last leg.
Fixed dates limit your options
Paris is not big Oneworld airport

What is the cash price with another airline?
