From April 15, 2018 at 12:01 a.m. Central Time through May 31, 2018 at 11:59 p.m. Central Time (“the Promotion Period”), AAdvantage® members must preregister at aa.com/converthotelpoints and opt in to receive marketing communications for the opportunity to receive bonus American Airlines AAdvantage® miles (“Offer”). To qualify for this AAdvantage® 25% bonus mile offer, member must initiate the AAdvantage® mileage conversions with participating eligible AAdvantage® program hotel participants (“Hotel Partner(s)”) during the Promotion Period, must provide their AAdvantage® number, and must be in good standing in the AAdvantage® program.
Members can convert multiple times with multiple Hotel Partners to earn bonus points. Conversions for hotel and air packages from Hotel Partners are not included for this offer. This offer is non-transferable and cannot be combined with any other offers. Conversions that take place before a member is registered for the offer will not count toward the offer.
Bonus miles will be posted by American Airlines to the qualifying AAdvantage® member's account within 7 business days after the initial conversion activity has been posted by the participating Hotel Partner. Bonus miles earned in this promotion do not count toward elite status qualification. If a Hotel Partner reverses an award of miles pursuant to the terms and conditions applicable for transacting with that Hotel Partner, American Airlines reserves the right to adjust the bonus miles awarded to the member under this Offer.

Thanks. Some how I missed this. This gives me a great opportunity to move all my SPG points to AA with a double bonus. Now that the SPG card/program has been gutted by Marriott is the AA ciitbank card the best alternative? Does the new double miles offer apply to the citi executive world elite mc?

60k Marriott points would convert to 15000 AA miles in this promotion. The equivalent 20k SPG points would convert to 31,250 AA miles, over twice as many. Anybody wanting to convert Marriott points to AA would be well advised to switch them into SPG at the current 3:1 rate first.

Nope, Tafflyer! 30K Marriott becomes 10K +2.5K AA under this promo. So 60K would become 25K AA, still not as good as 31,250. Or 70K Marriott --> 25K +6250 =31,250. So transferring from Starwood is still better, but by a smaller margin than double!

Looks like transfer description shows from the hotel program name. Mine just stated, "STARWOOD PREFERRED GUEST".
