Exactly. Unfortunately this won't work out as desired. Right now your ticket (one record) doesn't match your reservation (a separate record). Until this gets cleaned up you most likely will not be able to check-in for your first flight... and it's going to be a really unpleasant start to your trip if you don't clean this up ahead of time.

Sounds like the clear consensus is: don't risk it.

I'm going to try to get a hold of a human AA customer service rep to get it cleared up and will update on what I find out.

Thank you all so much for the great advice (and likely saving me from being stranded at the airport)!

I would make sure to say that you're happy with the flights the way they are--my guess is an agent will be happy not to have to find alternate space for you and would just reissue the ticket to match the current res.
