I'm semi-curious to know the biggest MM on here, I think the largest I've noticed in someone's profile is 9MM but I suspect there are some way into double figures.

I know someone who has more than 50 million miles lifetime from cc spend. Another that has over 50 million miles currently in his Delta account because he chose to build cc spend there. I’d probably be close myself but chose to transfer most of my Starwood spend elsewhere. And the three of us are in a small niche industry. My guess would be there are many but can’t provide proof.

Not confused. Maybe didn’t explain well enough that it was easy to rack up Lifetime miles through credit card spend and there are some out there who have very high lifetime balances if they chose to do so on AA.

Agreed. I remember quadruple miles (triple miles plus the standard 100 percent bonus for PLT) help get me to LT PLT. Of course, once hitting EXP back then, it was easy to upgrade the flights and travel more to reach status again.
It was sometimes easy to find transcons for $100 each way. Ah,those days. My progress to 3 MM is at a crawl. I would pick it up a bit if there was PLT PRO status there. But, LT PLT is still good, especially since I don't fly that much any more.
International lounge access, 2 free bags, MCE, etc..........and the rare op up on partners. I do miss the old RDM earning formula. I also was helped by TWA miles

Geez, almost a decade since the Quadruple mile promotion last time in 2009.

Too late for me to try out the AA Quadruple miles in 2009. That's when the economy was in the slump. You can get the $100ish transcon now, but it's either BE. or it's ridiculously difficult to get the upgrade at. You can sort of get the distance-based from partners on AA, so it's not the end of the world. However, it is what it is.

I remember one bonus that included trips starting in Nashville, and some other places. I think it was Nashville, may Raleigh...
Places I didn't usually go to. I got to the starting city, then booked other tickets starting from there I remember a trip that including going to SJU, then flying to SEA..
Fares were low and I was getting a very high upgrade percentage... I got a cheap roundtrip to Germany for Thanksgiving weekend, to have enough to earn the bonus at 125K miles.
I think you had a choice, and I chose 2 SWU's. Of, I had burned 2 SWUs to go to Germany. But the many RDMs were a bonus

I hit LT Plat a long time ago and realized there was nothing more. So, I switched my loyalty to BA and am 1-2 years away from LT Gold on BA, which is equivalent to LT EXP (never thought about being a lifetime EVP as I'd rather be a lifetime CEO). I wonder why the seemingly departed OP doesn't switch to BA rather than Virgin.

I doubt it. Since the DL/NW merger in about 2009, the maximum MQMs that one can earn per year through credit card spending has been 100,000, requiring $60,000 each on personal and business Reserve cards plus $50,000 each on personal and business AmEx DL Plat credit cards. Total annual fees would be about $1200 for the four cards.

Not that it matters, his point was that he knows 2 people that have amassed over 50 million miles from cc spend, which on AA (prior to switchover) would all count for MM status.

Certainly helped me. I was the CIO of an NYSE company in the late 1990s, and all of the company's PC's were purchased on my Citibank AAdvantage card. Definitely helped push me along to LT PLT, where I sit today after a few years of EXP. The last multiple mileage promotion I recall was the nonstop LAX/RDU a few years ago, with double miles, IIRC. I did a few roundtrips one long weekend.

Maybe they're waiting for all of those who raked in lifetime miles via CC spend to die off and then release lifetime status for 3MM, 4MM+?
In all honestly, it doesn't make sense to reward someone PLT/PPRO/EXP for life if they haven't spent a fraction of the time/money with their butt in a seat.
