AA EXP. Flying CLT-DFW-LIM this weekend. Do I get access to the Flagship Lounge in DFW? I already have AC access but wanted to experience the FL.
Thanks! |

Do wide body flights to/from Hawaii in First grant Flagship dining access or just the Flagship lounge. Is the Flagship lounge at DFW better than the Centurion lounge?
Flagship Dining is only for 3 class F transcon and int'l flights. |

That's a very fortunate change. There's no FL in Phl. They're supposedly building one, but it has been in the works for years. I'd do whatever I can to get on a Flagship Flight. At the very least, they could put you in J with a day pass to the AC.

Answering my own question here - yes, but not very straightforward.

Nothing is straightforward with AA. But yes AC at SFO as part of the FF ticket from LAX. Just be glad you're not doing LAX-SFO-JFK w/ SFO-JFK in FF......See my Feb 9th post if you want to learn about that disaster...
I was supposed to leave today on a 230pm flight with UA (SFO-EWR). The night before, it was looking like I needed more time, so I cancelled the UA flight (also no chance of upgrading based on my placement on the list). With spring break in full swing, and fares were through the roof in all cabins, never mind I was essentially booking a walk-up fare. I wanted a nonstop red-eye but SFO-LAX-JFK was all I could find and only in F...I'll take it for 43.5K miles on a last minute ticket. I walked into AC at SFO a few hours ago. Neither my SFO-LAX nor LAX-JFK boarding pass would green lit by the computer. While one agent didn't know LAX-JFK was also 3-class, like SFO-JFK, the other agent was definitely more knowledgeable. No matter what they tried, they couldn't get the verify the BP by computer. The more knowledgeable agent waived me through and told me they will figure it out how to fix. Pretty straight forward thereafter - had some snack at SFO AC, took a quick nap in the nap room, quickest gate to takeoff I have ever experienced at SFO (thanks also to the proximity between runway to B22), eagle nest arrival at LAX, buffet dinner at FL, and now just browsing FT before flight to JFK in an hour or so. |

Thats a bummer to hear about that at SFO but at least you ultimately got in. I went back and forth for 20-30 minutes and nothing at LAX. No one knew anything. It sounds just like my situation where the flight to get to the qualifying flight was the issue. Or not the flight but the FL before that flight. Although in your case they didnt even realize at first that LA-NY is 3 class. In my case they knew my qualifying flight was 3 class but kept ridiculously insisting that LA-SF isnt a 3 class cabin so therefore i cant get in..

No issues at JFK. All of the folks I interacted there seemed very competent.

DFW FFD/BA F access
I'd like to just confirm 2 things before I confirm a trip & go out of my to Dallas..
DFW FFD is actually open right? I cant find a single review on the re open. For JFK & MIA at least one of the big bloggers did a write up but I dont see anything for DFW nor do I see anyone on here posting pics, menus, reviews, etc.. Secondly, BA F will get me in to FFD, at DFW? Is this written down anywhere online where I can see it? Or is it just the same as like arriving Transcon F or J gets FFD/FL/connecting to or from gets you same day access to FL/FFD? Am I looking at a decent chance of being denied I guess is what I am asking or is the BA F getting in a non issue? |

The lounge and FFD are both open, but BA/AA need to sort out the access question AASP. |

In the other reopening thread someone mentioned it was "closed" however they didn't provide any details, not sure if they were confusing it with LAX or arrived before opening hours (noon) or what. BA F did receive FD access at DFW pre-covid. As DFW FD is newly opened, there's been only one report of a BA F flyer trying to gain access that I'm aware of, and they were denied. But it was not clear if that was new policy or just a poorly trained agent /opening week issues. I'm leaning towards the latter, given this is AA, and it doesn’t make any sense why BA would offer FD access in MIA but not DFW. Partner airline access to FD is not listed anywhere online that I'm aware of. But based on your other posts about wanting to fly around solely to access Flagship Dining, I'm not sure I would book a BA F trip from DFW for the sole purpose of getting FD access until we get clarification and a few more data points. |

Unfortunately Peru is no longer a Flagship Lounge eligible destination for business class or an AA elite. So no FL, only AC access.
