When I called in this very situation they understood the request and were quite helpful. Might be worth a shot.

Hmm, interesting. I tried the web page you linked to just now. It did have functionality for looking things up based on "document number". First for "document number" I tried the transportation voucher number. It showed the original voucher amount but nothing deducted from it. Next I tried the ticket # of the itinerary that I ticketed yesterday. In the latter case it says that all I can do is cancel the itinerary and proceed with refunding - obviously don't want to do that.

For the first search result it did give the option of sending this over to a "refund specialist" - thinking maybe I will do that (based on the voucher #) but then cite to the ticket # of the itinerary I ticketed, and explain the tax/fee situation.

You mention calling - who did you call? Just general AA customer service?

E voucher for reissue?

I received an evoucher from AA customer relations after another holiday schedule cancellation.

I want to apply this towards a reissue holiday ticket.

However AA ExPl desk says this is impossible?

Is that the case? Or is there another way to go about it?

American Airlines Voucher

Are AA vouchers stackable when checking out on there website?

No they are not

How long does it take AA to mail back your voucher as change? It's been almost a month since I mailed it in. They got it, the flight has been ticketed and has been taken. Just waiting on the voucher so I can use it to book another flight.

I'll go ahead and merge this question into the current extant thread discussing transportation vouchers.

Vouchers - what are they really worth?

I voluntarily took a latter flight back in August and got a $500 voucher. I went to book a flight on AA.com yesterday and come to find out the voucher can't be used on the website. I called in and the automated message said I could save at least $35 by booking online. I gave the exact info of the flight I was trying to book online, and over the phone it came out to $71 more. The flight, per the online pricing was $730. In my case, the voucher ended up really being worth only $429. Is this typical?

You put the flight on hold. Call the 800 number with the flight and voucher info. You will be directed to mail the voucher into an address in Florida or you can ticket at the airport if you are going to the airport in the next few days. You get the online fare.

A $500 voucher is worth $500 if you use it properly. I have heard that carriers book them at somewhat less than 50% as most customers forget them or otherwise don't use them. But, that doesn't change the value to the consumer.

And if they add the $35 phone fee, ask them to remove it and they will. There was some lawsuit about it a few years ago so now they have to remove the fee if you are using a voucher and book by phone.

My company TA used some vouchers to book six flights for me. When I request a receipt for these flights it shows "Paid with Vouchers/Credit Card", as the $11.20 government fees were charged to my CC. The flights all booked into booking class F.

Should these flights earn miles?

AA mailed my residual voucher to a wrong address!! Has anyone had this experience before? I sent them an email with the right address and asked them to cancel the prior voucher and issue a new voucher. What's AA going to do?

Is there any way to find out the 2-character code of an eVoucher? Examples of 2-character codes are DV, DI, BC, etc.

Can you combine gift cards and vouchers for payment? (In particular, at an airline ticket office).

I hate using vouchers, as I typically want to use a SWU with it, and it takes forever to ticket.

ILAZXFE Dec 18, 2015 9:51 pm

I paid $960 for a ticket using giftcards and credit card. cancelled that ticket because there's schedule change and they offered full refund. however, I only got the ticket price $682(without tax or fees) and the amount I paid by credit card back which is $109. They keep saying that they only see this much and won't pay the rest. Filed BBB but they did not response.
