New vendor for mixed nuts (domestic AA - 2/2016), now able to buy online [7/2020]

On 2/21, I noted three macadamia nuts in my domestic AA mixed nuts. The percentage of cashews was also much lower than before (thankfully). I asked the FA, and she confirmed that AA has a new vendor for its domestic mixed nuts supply.

I'm so glad to have fewer than 70% cashews.

The pistachio count was up, but the quality was down. Cashew count way down, less than 50% now.

The remaining nuts (almonds, macadamias, and pecans) were of good quality, but the pistachios all tasted burnt, maybe this new vendor over-roasts that particular nut.

Hmm. I could have sworn that the (now) previous nut vendor was Costco/Kirkland. Just visit your local Costco and look at their mixed nuts.

Nope. Almonds give me a headache. I just filled a ramekin with 100% whole cashews and ate them in mourning.

I like cashews but getting macadamia nuts too is nice.

Dang it!!

My idea of a 'Mixed Nut Cart' - where the FA would custom blend for you on request- was apparently shot down by Food and Beverage Services....

Wasn't there a shortage of almonds due to drought in California, resulting in the AA nut mix to have extra cashews due to this? I seem to recall someone posting a thread on it. Maybe this is related to that.
