I have always had a lot of respect for most US Airways cabin crews. They had almost nothing to work with after the US-HP merger. Even the former Envoy for a long time was so pathetic that dessert wasn't being provided at all. The pre-merger US domestic fleet lost IFE, domestic F became a complete joke, and overall US kept ranking very poorly year after year. I witnessed so many FAs being excessively apologetic and they trying their best to serve the little things they were given.

I'll hold my opinion, because really, little has happened and so much remains to be done. Given the size, scope, differences etc. quite understandable, IMO. This isn't like baking a cake; it requires a lot of due diligence, preparation, tests and trials behind the scenes and prior to actual implementation. (I've been involved in sort orate mergers, so I've seen some of the challenges firsthand.)

E.g. The FFP still remains an unknown, though knowledgeable members like JonNYC believe the announcement is coming soon (Halloween? ;)) (and I believe there may also be incremental changes, perhaps announced Nov 1015, to make some additional changes - perhaps including a revenue component to earning status).

SO much more to do, and of course we're hoping it all goes smoothly. (Though some previous airline mergers have given us IT meltdowns, etc.)

As Holly Hegeman wrote not that long ago to FAs,

Dear Reader,

Let me get this straight. Your airline is less than 12 months into integration, and has yet to produce meaningful synergies for shareholders and meaningful harmonization for customers. Your airline still has to complete single operating certificate cutover, conversion to a sole reservation system, merge the two frequent flyer programs, integrate over 700 plus information technology systems, harmonize hundreds of policies, manuals and other government-audited processes, and also completely the integration of a single maintenance supply chain management system…."

Questions about the merge of the Dividend Miles with AAdvantage???

I bought many miles on the Dividend Miles and hopefully merge with AAdvantage.
I have the following questions about the merge:
1- How do the points will be transferred from the Dividend Miles (DM) for AAdvantage (AA), since we may have problems of small differences in name / surname ???
2 points will migrate from DM to AA in the ratio of 1: 1 ???
3- The AAdavantage will continue with the possibility to issue only one way will be equal to or DM only allows round trip ???

Nobody knows at this point how the merging of programs will happen, or what the benefits in the merged program will be.

Being announced this week.

Although 2 of those question are easy; mies will be 1:1 and AAdv will continue with one-way awards, obviously.

So far, I haven't been hurt by any changes. I think part of the concern over the merger is that, given the race for the bottom most carriers have been on, it seemed that pmAA had finally reached it, and started bouncing in the other direction. I know I have generally bee happy with my service, and know that most of the problems I have experience have not been under AAs control.
There has been one change that could be big for me, and that is the addition of flights to the US PHL and CLT hubs from one of my primary airports, FWA. If the ERJs get retired soon, hopefully the DFW service will get boosted to a C7 or E75 (yeah, I'm an eternal optimist... :) ) that could make some of my travel much more pleasant than trying to fight ORD all of the time.

From a service standpoint, I have found that RJ flight attendants usually are more likely to acknowledge EXP and offer the expected treats, but other than AWOL PDB, most mainline flight attendants are quite friendly and competent. (One exception was a recent flight where the call button, which I rarely use in the first place, was completely ignored. The FA was still quite friendly and helpful once I got her attention, but the little light above the seat may as well have not even existed.)

First USAir flights in many years......

Upgraded 50% of the time- about what I expected on AA. So, no problem.

Very surprised at the lack of food. Snack baskets??

On the return very dissapointed that I had to argue with an FA over the complimentary drink in Coach. Didn't know, didn't try to find out what I was talking about. I had to go to the Business FA and ask for a drink.

Overall, USAir is a budget airline. I am very worried about the future "enhancements."

Don' t kid yourself, they are both budget airlines, with a "luxury" thrown in here and there to make you think that they're not. Have you ever flown Emirates, Qatar, or alike? Compared to these, AA and US, are pretty much the same as Southwest, Frontier, etc. On the positive side, the US airlines are making money these days, so you will probably get to keep some form of your loyalty currency, which I would approach as I would with the Argentine Peso.
