Any recent info on this? Can it be done at the airport as someone mentioned above? I need to split a payment between a corporate and personal CC and I need the charges to come directly from AA as a ticket charge (vs a gift card purchase or different travel agent). Thanks!

Yes, it can, or at an AA ticket office if your city has one.

It used to be you needed one of those old-school validators and a carbon copy and a whole bunch of other things for transactions with multiple forms of payment, but fortunately that went away in April. Now you just swipe and go.

I'm not sure if you would be subject to the airport service fee. I would personally waive it since there's no other way to complete the transaction, but YMMV.

Does it take 72 hours for the virtual gift card to be active?

Can I use a virtual gift cards + credit card to pay for tickets? I want to buy 4 tickets on one PNR which will total around 20k USD but the gift cards (2 x 4k each) will leave a 12k gap.

Thanks to clarify the above two questions.

AA's generally waived it when I've used vouchers at the airport.

Multiple Credit Cards for Purchase

Hi

Just a quick question - does anyone know if you can use two credit cards to pay for an AA reservation? It would just be one person on the reservation. Just curious if this is something that is possible. I know you can't online, but wasn't sure if anyone had any luck when calling in or going to the airport

No. Only way to do multiple credit cards is to buy an aa gift card with one of the credit cards and apply the gift card and 2nd cc to the reservation. Note: there is a what 2 or 3 day hold on alll gift cards before they are active.

Ahhh ok - thank you for that info! If I already had a gift card and then bought one myself, could I then use both gift cards and a credit card?

There was a thread about this. https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/amer...nt-aa-com.html

Basically it's not possible, even over the phone. However it might work if you pay at the airport, although no one ever tried it.

Thank you for that link! I took a look at it, and as you noted no one has tried at the airport. I have a flight tomorrow - so when I go I will ask the agents what their take on it is and report back!
