Not exactly. There was always a limit of 10 referrals, but this is a case where BankDirect actually enforced it. I received a referral bonus this month, and I've had more than 10 (since I've been referring for so long, 4+ years).

Recently, BD has been making a LOT of changes (many that don't appear to have a rational basis) and not notifying everyone. I'm having a battle with them about one now.

I'd say, if you don't know of an exception to the rules in writing, recently, it doesn't exist anymore.

Maybe you misread my comment. You can still get more than 10 bonuses because I JUST SAW ONE POST to my account and have received more than 10.

Frugaltravelguy is talking about someone who received all of his website referrals. For all we know that person received 500k in bonuses and BD decided to enforce a rule.

Here is an idea on where to transfer $1,000,000 out of BankDirect

When people on FlyerTalk get bored with earning American Airline miles from BankDirect, want to retire and become a couch potato, they could transfer $1,000,000 for one year from BankDirect to TD Ameritrade and get a free Sony 46" Internet TV powered by Google AND a Sony Blu-Ray Disk Player.

http://www.tdameritrade.com/offer/rewards/sony.html

You can take your home entertainment experience to a whole new level. Sony’s Internet TV, powered by Google TV, lets you watch TV, surf the Web or do both simultaneously without leaving your couch.

Now, if I could get a Sony 46" Internet TV powered by Google and a Sony Blu-Ray Disk Player installed in front of my seat on my next AA flight, I would fly much more and easily become an AAdvantage Executive Platinum®.

+1.

The problem to this would be having $1 Million. I wish I had it right now so I can pay for college and attend my current institution..

Yes, but unlike mileage earning with BD, you WILL get a 1099 for the value of the electronics! (I actually returned some R-C free night certs under a prior TDA promo for that reason.) As has been discussed here at some length, the tax-free implications of the BD mileage-earning arrangement increase its value for many.

Not to go totally off-topic, but I've gotten quite a few miles from TD Ameritrade over the last year, with no 1099. So electronics, yes, but miles, no?

Next time that happens, I think I would be more than happy to pay your taxes on the issued 1099 if I also get your benefit of free miles or a free Sony television.

Problems with Bankdirect online Application

I have completed the app 3 times only to be kicked back to the home page. Tried both Internet Explorer 9, as well as Google Chrome. Customer service offered to send me an app through snail mail, but could not help with anything online. I asked if they had an internet support group or person that I could speak with and they said NO!
Not sure what good a paper app would be if I can't bank online. I don't live in Texas!

I have asked Mod to merge your thread to the long running BD thread in AA forum where you might get more help.

I had to open the account via paper also but it worked.

BD is not something you rely on for your day to day banking, seriously. But a way to earn AA miles and this is pretty much most everyone uses it for.

The less online function you need to perform on BD site the better off you are.

They seem to be getting worse:

1st a month's of direct deposit posted to the account now its:

In order to receive the one-time 10,000 mileage credit for direct deposit, you must deposit your FULL payroll direct deposit from ALL income sources to a BankDirect Mileage Checking Account. If you have more than one employer, you must deposit the FULL amount of your entire payroll direct deposit from EACH and EVERY income source in order to receive the one-time 10,000 mileage credit. Your direct deposit from ALL income sources must be deposited for 3 consecutive months in order to earn the one-time 10,000 mileage credit. The one-time 10,000 mileage credit is paid out after you have reached the minimum 3 month consecutive deposit requirement from ALL income sources. To receive mileage credit, contact BankDirect Client Support to notify us that you have met the minimum qualifications. Please allow 6 to 8 weeks for the miles to post to your AAdvantage® account.

Remember you filled out the application form that has household income?

This has been discussed in the long running thread in the AA forum. Some were asked to submit their W-2s!!!

Is there any consensus on the minimum of what BD will accept to recognize DD and give the 10,000 miles?

Moving to AA forum where there is a BIG thread already.

This reads as if some bozo with an IQ of 70 is trying to be fancy and write like a lawyer. The random capitalization and redundant language (each and every) combined with a total failure to define the key terms (e.g., income source) is pretty sad.
