Finding Fare Classes?
Hello all.
How do I figure out the fare class of a flight before I book it?
Specifically:
Oakland (OAK)
3:00 pm Sat, Mar 14 Seattle (SEA)
4:55 pm Sat, Mar 14 AS345
Seattle (SEA)
5:55 pm Sat, Mar 14 Oakland (OAK)
7:58 pm Sat, Mar 14 AS350
$98.00 + taxes
$119.20 total

I think it may be "T" class. If you proceed like you are going to purchase and click on "view all fare rules". The following pops up:

***Notice the "T03XJN5". I think It may be "T" but someone here with access to sabre could probably confirm. I think the cheapest AS fares are usually "T". Hope that qualifies for OnePass EQM's for ya.

The letter a fare basis code begins with, ie T03XJN5, is almost always the fare class it books into. There are very few exceptions such as DL's "UP" fares. I posted all of AS's codes here before. I'll post a link in this thread if I can get the search feature to work correctly and can find it!

A - Super Saver F awards
U - All Upgrades (MVPG, MVP, Certs, Miles & Paid)
Coach:
Y - Full Flex coach fare - unrestricted/refundable AND Full Flex coach awards
S - Paid F or award F, no F cabin available*
B,M,H - "Value" coach fares
Q,L,V,K - "Bargain" coach fares, V class used for Choice coach awards & BTTs#
G,T - "Hot Deal" coach fares
W - Super Saver coach awards
* I have only seen "S" used on QX segments when I have purchased F fares. ex. PHXSEA F SEAGEG S
