Check the tail number for your plane on https://alaskafleetstatus.weebly.com/
2Ku is satellite WiFi.
Note that even on the day of travel the assigned aircraft can change, though.

I didn’t know Alaska flew to Offett AFB in Nebraska (OFF). 😂😂. Assume your finger slid from OGG. (Sorry, couldn’t help myself). Have a good trip, the sat WiFi on the OGG flights have always been lighting fast for me, I assume because it’s so leisure heavy.

on a related note, was surprised to see $40 listed as the price for internet on my flight today. I thought it was $8 for all flights -- or is that only for the satellite wifi?

Yes, $8 is only for satellite wifi. For those planes still with ground based wifi (shown as gogowifi when you try to connect), it is still the old higher price. This is the only reason I keep the monthly wifi plan in case I get the slow wifi with higher price.

Random question, but is the $50 a month plan for the satellite wifi also? Because Alaska Airlines says streaming fast wifi, but when signing up, I noticed it says "gogo does not support video streaming"

Yes it is. The disclaimer seems to be old verbiage that never got updated.
