Or grow by aircraft utilization......still can work in Alaska's favor.

Will be another year of growing capacity not by total aircraft but adding seats into reconfigured planes. So would not expect many/any new routes unless there are cuts elsewhere to make them possible.

With delays with the A321NEO deliveries and MAX's grounded... its a rather large equalizer for the carriers.

Not a whole lot of growth in the narrow body spectrum in the short term for now.

Can I request a B727 or B707 please? :D

I'm missing something... the financial report says this:

Two Q400 aircraft that were previously removed from our operating fleet will be returning to revenue service. We expect these additions to occur in late 2019.
Where are you seeing three?

There are only 2. The 3 is probably the reference to Airbus aircraft being returned to lessors. One is going back in 2019 and 2 in 2020. Guess they haven't decided what they are doing with the rest that come off lease between 2021-2024.

Bringing back 2 of the smallest airplanes to deal with the loss of 32 very large ones is a narrative alright... not sure what kind of thought goes into crafting that though.

If the Max deliveries don't come through as expected and the Airbus planes continue on the path to be returned to lessors over time, they will be shrinking quite a lot. They have some A320 options but the longer they wait on those and the further behind Airbus gets with their deliveries, they could be setting themselves up for some difficult decisions:)

We know what that means - the markets AS hates will soon feel this change (Attention OAK passengers: better wash your hands with soap and water before boarding).
