Ironically this is the mileage run that I clear MVP Gold on. But it's clear the upgrade process still has issues.

Not complaining about missing a Thursday arvo upgrade out of SEA, because that's normal. What's strange on this is that I booked seat 6C about 3 weeks in advance, then at check-in it booted me to 12A. Fortunately 10A was available to switch back to so it's not a complete loss, but the downgrade from a premium class (and Row 6!) aisle to a regular seat was a major bummer and I have no idea how this could have happened.
Anyone else experience something similar?

10/31/17 SEA-EWR AS 790 MVP Upgrade cleared at the terminal.
Mounting frustration with the upgrade system - although I'm not sure how much I can complain. I was offered a complimentary upgrade for SEA-EWR redeye at the kiosk, even though I was ~14/30 on the waitlist and only 2 open F seats at T-24. Did not get upgraded at T-48 for the midweek SAT-SEA flight on a half-empty plane, and ended up 1/3 on the waitlist.

SEA-STL today -- wasn't on this flight, but spotted it and found it interesting... no upgrades cleared with a list of 49 pax on a 12F 73H. This route usually isn't so elite-heavy, even on a Monday. Maybe Boeing is flying an entire team to STL for the week
It's also interesting that so many people way down the list are in Premium and many near the top aren't. Perhaps the higher level elites are purchasing late after others have been assigned Premium seats or, more likely, they're probably in the exit rows.

Upgrade cleared automatically at T-116 hrs (F7U5 at the time, IIRC)
I suspect there was a fair amount of paid F (or maybe GGUs cleared far in advance) on this flight (several elderly pax who seemed like they didn't travel often - they weren't familiar with needing to store bulkhead bags above for takeoff/landing, multiple pax miffed about only one meal choice in F, etc.).
It was also my first time on the AS/VX combo livery (N493AS) ^
