It's not a basket--it's some sort of protective cover for a panel of some sort. I've always thought it a little odd, but there is so much room in the exit row (more than unlimited, actually ) that it doesn't really interfere with anything.

It's a panel to equalize pressure if there is a rapid loss of cabin pressure. So rather than the entire wall blowing out, it would just be that panel.

Ah, then the wire gating there makes sense--the panel can blow out but won't fly through the cabin and hit people!

Not all of the flights to BRW are Combi this time of the year.

You could do a day trip to JNU from Seattle. AS61 in the morning, spend the day in Juneau and then AS66 on the way back.

The Combi's are also known to be swapped out at times, however this time of year they like to get them into CDV and YAK on the way south as there is a lot of money in the front of those planes.

It hasn't been updated recently, however the Combi schedule is helpful.

I'm trying to find a combi in late Aug/Sept and having no luck. Anyone know where they might be flying then?

Hmm I was hoping to find a milk run in SE AK during that time. Most of them are -400s and -700s now.
