Yeah I thought the same. I don't know why a few people think this thread is such a waste. It obviously is a hot enough topic to get this far.

I've really enjoyed the spirited discussion here and am glad I started the thread.

I'm not sure how much more can be said about this without access to data to which AS would be crazy to give us access. I presume more than one AS employee has been following this thread. If they find something useful here, and decide to follow up on it, great. If not, I've given it my best shot.

Meanwhile, I'm holding onto northofcoach.com. It may come in handy someday. :)

Yep--I see no reason for this thread to get locked. It's been productive and stimulating debate.

And yes, you've had more than one AS employee reply to this thread (at least one of whom--at least I get the impression--is not just on the front lines), so your arguments are not going unnoticed.

And third, I know a guy who grabbed alaskaspirit.org (mentioned in a Flash demo on the AS website once upon a time) and was hoping it may have come in handy someday. Sadly, no response. (But save Tim! :D)

Hey... I know that guy too :p

It seems this is a pasttime of AS FT'ers... holding website URL's in hopes that AS can use them someday :D

The only reason I could see them do so would be to remove 7 seats from the 738 so they could fire some flight attendants, but I'm sure they've crunched those numbers, too.

Better idea! Mid cabin lav and an extra row of F should work! :p

How exactly would removing one row of Y seats (plus a seventh seat in the back) make room for an extra row of F seats, not to mention an additional lav?

Great Thread!!!

1. Wow, you remind me of me (-;
2. To quote Bill Clinton "I feel your pain"!

Already have 1K "in the bag" for 2010 so I thought about switching my transcon travel to AS. HOWEVER, I would need to ensure that I could either upgrade or get an exit isle seat, otherwise its UA ONLY!

As far as I'm concerned, E+ even isn't really an option on transcons. My strategy is simple...p.s. thru SFO or LAX only. Have a 100% UG clearance rate from Y>C. And as well all know, p.s. in C is a LOT better than mainline F!

I can nail down MVPG just on segments but would luv to fly the 75K BIS miles in order to get the 50K mileage bonus. I guess it's the kind of dilema we elites have to deal with.

Non transcons, no issue here as E+ is simply the best Y product out there in terms of legroom...

Elite Status Is Not A Matter of Life and Death...It's Much More Important Than That!

We do sound like peas in a pod. I'm at 93K EQMs on UA already this year, so I know I have that in the bag.

I don't use your p.s. strategy -- I'd love to, believe me, but from SEA, I have non-stops to two of the three places I travel most (IAD/DCA and MCO) and for the third (RDU), p.s. would mean a three-leg trip, so it doesn't work. Sadly. If only UA offered p.s. out of SEA, my life would be complete. Well, mostly. :)

We must have been twins sepertaed at birth dude! Totally understand your strategy being based out of SEA.

For me, it's summers I am in PRC, winters in PHX. So, I have to connect thru a UA hub to get to NYC. Going thru ORD or IAD was an option at one time. Once I discovered p.s. that was it for me! There's just something about 108" inches of leg room in row 9 that I kinda dig, if you know what I mean (-;
