Atmos Rewards members can earn 500 status points for every $100 spent on any combination of SAF through Alaska Airlines, up to a maximum of 5,000 status points through December 31, 2025. Status points earned from SAF contributions can only be added to one Atmos Rewards account per booking. No partial awards of points will be made on increments of less than $100. Members must include their Atmos Rewards number at checkout. Status points count toward Atmos Rewards status qualification for the 2025 calendar year, but are non-redeemable and cannot be used toward award travel. All Atmos Rewards and status points terms and conditions apply.

Ways to Earn Status Points (EQM) Without Flying (2025 and Earlier)
"Alaska is also rewarding guests who purchase a certain amount of SAF credits (i.e. SAF environmental attributes) with Elite Qualifying Miles (EQMs), as part of the airline's year-end elite status promotions, further reflecting its emphasis on scaling and leading the advancement of SAF.Now through December 31, 2023, Alaska Mileage Plan members will earn 500 Elite-Qualifying Miles (EQMs) per $100 of SAF credits purchased (with a 5,000 EQM limit). These funds will go toward the purchase and use of SAF while providing a sustainability-focused way to reach that year-end mileage target and earn elite status for the year ahead. I will not be partaking in this. If I was close to the next threshold, Id rather make a quick trip somewhere.

It's a pretty reasonable way to get a few EQM at a price that's not far off from what you'd pay for a mileage run, but without the fuel burn or time spent sitting in a metal tube and getting to/from the airport.

Good option to point all those people to who post about being a few hundred or thousand eqm away from some threshold. Worth it for most people even if flying is cheaper its quick and easy and reasonably priced.

Kudos to AS for coming up with a constructive option for those who fall short of a status threshold, seeking some type of consideration.

I may end up being 428 miles short of Gold, so this looks like a good option. Thanks for posting.

This definitely saves me the final PDX flight. $300 to not have to fly is well worth it.

I did something similar and paid a small fee (less than the cost of the MR alternative) to pay my property taxes with the Alaska card and get me over the spend threshold for the 2000 EQM bonus. And didn't have to drive to LAX, park, and sit in planes for a morning.

Lol $275 for SFO-JFK nets you 5k vs. 1000 for this but I guess it works.
Didnt Alaska historically give people the next tier if they were less than 500 short anyway?

Thanks for the heads up! Being less than 100 eqm short of requalifying for 75k, this is a nice option for me.
