Priority Pass ending physical cards?
I noticed my Priority Pass card expired and called Priority Pass support to request a new card. I was told Priority Pass recently stopped issuing physical cards and you need to use the Priority Pass app going forward

That's unfortunate. One lounge dragon told me they prefer using the the physical cards to process entry. They said is was quicker and easier to confirm the member's entry credential. And if you're in a country in which you don't have some kind of cell coverage for your smartphone and no wifi access is available, you might have difficulty.

I was just able to take a screenshot of my digital Priority Pass card. Not sure whether that would suffice for access in lieu of logging in to the account. But as long as the screenshot image is scannable, I would hope so.

That's unfortunate. Both my husband and I have many Priority Pass cards. I've finally put stickies on each card so I know which credit card came with it. I've added the number of guests I can have. I've got one card that comes with a food benefit. I have the app on my phone but it is impossible to put all the cards on one app. While I generally prefer doing things electronically, this company's software really lags and I foresee numerous problems. Further, the San Diego Aspire lounge requires a physical card, whether the AMEX plat card, an AA club card, or a Priority Pass card. I entered the lounge two days ago and this information is current as of then.

My card expired at least 2 years ago, they didn't send me a new card. I continue using my expired card with no problem. So, as long as your membership is valid and member number stays the same, the expired card still works.

Thanks, This is good info to know, so I can just keep my expired card with me when I travel.

Newly issued physical card reported HERE. I am skeptical that cards are discontinued systemwide.

I for one would be happy with this news. I already have too many pieces of plastic in my life, and managing my three (?) PP cards would be a new hassle gone.
As an aside, would be great if the digital cards could say which bank issues them, eg amex vs Chase. |
If you read the QR code on publicly available PP digital cards it seems to be in this format:
https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...f3c5c8ac9e.jpg Code:
PP%2F250615%2FMR%20CHRIS%20TESTS%2F0317%2F1414716141%2F%2F1%2F4566C3Code:
PP/210617/MR. ASA HAUSER/0518/1414186739//1/5C3075PP /{date?}/{name}/{exp mmyy}/{card/account number}// {number of guest?}/{six digit checksum?} Can somone try to decipher their own digital card and post the format (not the detail) here? PS Asa Hauser was at Collinson from 2012-18... strange that he would use his QR for a demo/promo material |
I write the card providence on the back at the end of the signature area.
