Air France booked wrong award ticket! Confirmation email proves it
I'm calling them now, but wondering if I have any rights to get the exact award flight I booked?
I booked a direct flight on Aeroflot from LAX -> Moscow (SVO). My confirmation page and confirmation email confirm this booking. However, my actual booking email (received a few mins later), has LAX -> CDG -> VKO.
I want my original direct flight, which is what I booked. Can I demand it if they say it was a mistake?

Is your original routing still available using miles on their website? If yes, you have a good chance of getting your original booking.
If not, then you won't. maybe ask for a refund/goodwill gesture miles in return for the inconvenience.

You are contradicting yourself here (bolding is mine). Your story is unclear. Are you saying that within minutes, you received 2 e-mails with different flights ?

Confirmation of purchase email shows LAX -> SVO. Confirmed reservation email shows LAX -> CDG -> VKO.
I spoke to Airfrance, he said Aeroflot has 4 open seats but they are not releasing them for awards. Their system somehow picked them up as available, and let me continue thru the booking. Unfortunately there's nothing he can do. He said he will refund my points.

SU has 72 hours from the time OP books to confirm positive space. Usually much faster. Here, apparently there was no positive space and AF provided what was available.
I consider this good customer service because AF has at least "protected" the passenger on some routing which he may cancel for a full refund. On the other hand, if OP still wants to travel, he's got a ticket.
