Air France Abonné card - 6 month extension

I just received an e-mail from Air France advising me that the expiry date of my card has been pushed back by 6 months. Thanks, AF

Same here!
A very nice gesture indeed, like the AF Week-End Card apparently (as notified by Lynxy - in the, now locked, status extension thread - IIRC).

Just a question though, will AF send a new card with the new expiry date?
Because at the back of the card, it clearly mentions:

"Cette carte est exigible lors de tout contrôle accompagnée d'une pičce d'identité"

Message also seen when booking with the Abonné number.

Nice from them indeed.

Although for those needing XPs when renewing the Abonné card, that 6-month might become a delay.

True. But if to some XPs are more important than the actual benefits of the card, nothing prevents them from getting another Abonné card before the extended term expires.

Ok first, I'm not concerned at all in any way by your idea!

But your suggestion is very interesting for anyone having 160+/280+/580+/880+/1180+ or more XP in 2020 ....

€270 for a nice bunch of 20 XP without flying, won't break the bank in today's situation!

Or what if anyone gets/got the card right before the gesture?

270 eur for 20XP doesn't seem like a good deal to me. Might be useful if you are close to upgrading and running out of year though... anyone who is merely maintaining is better off just using the guarantee not to lose status. And if anything, buy the other card after.

Knowing that everyone stopped flying since March, just an extension of six further months is not so quite generous . Most of firms will not turn back to regular business trips in September ...

Looks like the extension is 9 months in total, unless it's a bug from AF website.

Can anyone confirm this?
Just after booking a same day domestic round trip, i've noticed that my card which is due to expire April 1st, now shows a validity up to July 1st (same in the app) - if true, thank you AF .
