AF to progressively reduce its A380 fleet to 5 frames

Yeah, I guess to be more precise, one could say it's a "perfect" aircraft for an airport where runway capacity is constrained (but passenger capacity is not).

The A380 is perfect for EK because EK says its perfect for EK. They certainly have scale which makes it better for them, but for most airlines, they ordered a few to try them out, were unhappy with them and have been dumping them. The 747SP was a great airframe for certain Mideast carriers at the time, but also was not successful (although a modified 742).
