Any Way of Avoiding the Hand Baggage Weight Check at CDG?
Last time I flew out of CDG I narrowly avoided the weight check that occurs in the passport control line for my transatlantic flight. I fly AF/KLM frequently with a bag of about the same weight - but, the only place I have seen where you are funneled by a weight checker is CDG.
Is there any way of avoiding this check? I assume that it is not possible to get to the gate by going through a different passport control/security checkpoint?
I suppose one could print out a boarding pass on a refundable fare for a DL flight and show that to the people who want to weigh the baggage - but, that seems a bit over the top.

It's generally a convenience factor for me - I just grab my luggage from the overhead and don't need to wait for my bag to arrive. Bag also never gets lost.
Now that there are light and basic fares where hold luggage is no longer free, we may see more Europeans attempting to bring on larger and heavier luggage.
Flying to Paris on a light fare next week. I get a free checked bag due to elite status, wife gets no free checked bag.

I am for strict enforcement too. In the US it became really nasty. People get away with huge amounts of stuff and use any space they can find. Particularly there are some communists who stash their bags in first class bins whereas their bags, like them, belong to the back. Even so many years after maccarthysm, communism is a rare sight in America, except when the underclass flies.
If European airlines are going to crreate a rock bottom service class, there should be a fierce implementation of the rules.

Where is that ? Just look the regular lane and you’ll see them.
