KVS Availability Tool
Hey guys,
Just started using this tool and I was hoping for some clarification. I am going from YYC to LHR on the 31st of August and this is what comes up for AC850:
I was hoping to get bumped up to buisness/first class ... is there any chance?
I know J is business but not sure what the others are. TIA
Jayce

There is a sticky that details all the fare classes, but it doesn't look great (if you aren't an SE).
J is full fare business
C is "cheap" business (I cannot think of the technical name)
I is the upgrade class (i.e. the class you want to go into)
So, you cannot upgrade right away and there is only 1 seat up for aerolotto - I'm not sure how popular aerolotto is on this route.

This is saying that there is only one seat open in Business Class, although there are lots of open seats in Economy (Y...N). It's not clear what you mean by "bumping up", but the only time that happens is if Economy is oversold, and then it should be done in order of status.

I wrote some things here: http://www.canflyer.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2478
I couldn't be bothered writing it out again so just read it there.

I'd say you have a 0% chance of getting upgraded. One thing you didn't mention is if you have any upgrade certificates or not, or what fare you paid. It looks like you don't have any status with AC (thus I'm assuming no certs, even if I space were available), so you would be at the bottom of the pecking order if they were going to be doing op-ups.

We are flying on AE points ... so I'm not sure what class we are in ... prolly a reward class ...
We are going on our honeymoon and I was really hoping we could get into a first class seat ... not looking so good ...
BTW ... who the hell is paying $5K for a first class ticket anyway?
