Again last minute tinkering by AC upper brass ruins a program.

Why is SE a ripoff? There are by AC's count almost 10,000 SE's and AC has many many fewer J seas than the big US Carriers.

AC also has a promo.....one can take the 10K Q miles as part of the package, no SSWU's until 45K and get double miles all the way.

The lack of SWWU's for E's at 45K makes no sense to me. I think AC screwed up the revenue model they based that decision on. Other than that I don't see the need for an in between program..........what would they offer? and would they reduce E benefits to have some difference between the two?

Unless you bought a pass from the US and got instant E.

YUP! ;)

PS the competition has great BONUS miles to push people over the top to 100K....... so at UA 1k is really about 80k.... Gold is 40K

[Parnel 100% bonus miles for all Gold and 1K.... I think silver get 50% but I am not sure?]
For $250 people get double points for a month late Nov early Dec.

BA/AA has a great way of getting Platinum cheap if you fly LHR-YYZ.. 4 flights and your in :)

Is that any fare/any class of service or is it 4 J/F flights?

Its the E+ [I forget what they call it] And you have a VERY VERY good chance of being upgraded to real business class seating with BA. Book 6 weeks in advance and get it for less than $1000 cnd.

THe info was posted by our London Iternomad??? I think his handle was???

Have to disagree already why fly :D . BA is legendary for not giving u/g out unless for an op-up - notwithstanding special deals where if you pay full-J you get F. And you only get a 1 cabin u/g, so Y>>Wt+, or WT+>>J. BA basically has no cert scheme either but they do have MFU although IIRC you have to be close to a full-fare in your paid-for cabin to be able to MFU. Being a 2 class cabin, the benefit of AC is if you get an u/g you go from Y to J.

BA's WT+ works for me (and sometimes J) although this only at the discounted fares at > 6weeks out. WT+ is nowhere near as good as AC's J across the pond but it is very bearable as it's only 7-8 hours

Well said ITAG... I did 110k last year and will be doing 145-150 this year. And all of it was self funded as opposed to having a company pay for my travel.
