Missing miles?

I've tried searching for this information, but the FT search function keeps giving me a page cannot be displayed error...

What is everyone's experience of how long it usually takes for missing miles to be credited after mailing one's boarding pass to the Aeroplan centre?

The miles have not posted for my August 3rd LHR-YYZ flight, and my experience is that if they aren't there within three days, they probably aren't going to show up. I've let most of my missing miles slide this year, since they were all for YYC-YVR flights and didn't seem worth following up on, but I'd hate to miss out on 3,500 status miles.

Also, why is it that it NEVER WORKS when I try to credit missing miles online?

I send in a boarding pass for a missing flight ORD-LHR and it took six weeks to show up in my account.

I was preparing to send in duplicate as I had concluded that the documents were lost.

I usually wait 30 days before sending in my BP and e-receipt. Once in the mail, I wait 14-21 days, then I call if the miles have not showned-up. I had to call twice in the last 2 months for 3 X 500 miles legs. Upon calling, they asked me for flight numbers, cities, date and then checked the ticket number ( ) Got my miles the day after. You may want to call earlier, specially if you are in need of the 3500 miles for an award tix...

I'm in the same boat

Reluctant Canadian, I have the same problem. I travelled LGA-ORD-YVR the morning of Aug3. I was transferred over to UA because AC705 (LGA-YYZ) was cancelled due to the AF incident on Aug2.

I kept absolutely all my paperwork, UA BP and the AC printed material. I was thinking of waiting two-three weeks for to see if something posts. However I don't need the miles for a threshold bonus.

My YVR-YYC from Aug7 has posted this morning, so I am thinking my LGA-ORD-YVR leg will be a mail in.

It took around 4-6 weeks after I have sent in the boarding passes to AE. For redirect or changed flights on AC, UA or US, the miles always made it into my account within a week (note: my AE number always appear on all of the issued boarding passes).

Thanks for the advice; I think I may just do that. The main reason I really want to get the miles is that, given how much my flying has slowed down in the last couple of months, they could make the difference between me making or not making SE in time for instant recognition.

Nearly a month after I sent in my boarding pass, and still no sign of the missing miles in my account. There has to be a way to make this process more efficient. I suppose I should just call and see if the agent can do it...

As the OP suggested, how about just getting the on-line request system to actually work.

My experience in the past has been mixed: some agents have refused to help with this, but I will try again.

I have a 100% success rate with the AE agent for this particular kind of request, specially when I explain them what I've done so far with no results.

I called in this afternoon and the agent did help me to get the miles credited. They should be posted to my account by tomorrow.
