AC FT just keeps on going

Wild to swing by here again and see it still going strong.

With all the options for communicating online it surprises me a bulletin board still has staying power.

I hope everyone has been doing well!

After a few years you hardly even notice the dialup-modem sound as you go online.

Glad to have you back.

Took almost a 10 year break myself after getting laid off from previous roadwarrior job and losing my status, but now have it back, and am back here.

I think the staying power is that this place has managed to maintain the more expert level folks, and is a little less obvious to the FOTSG folks, compared to the various relevant subreddits.

The only problem is that most of the RCHHMP detachment and their constables are long gone.
I miss them. Fartlicking and all.
Cue in sad face emoji.

Yes doing well--even some of the originals are here. Thanks for making a celebrity guest appearance:D

I agree it's great to see this forum not be made obsolete by social media. I much prefer the classic message board format.

Besides the members themselves, I also credit strong moderation for keeping it viable.

Masochism is not a force to be trifled with.

there's no comparison between this place and the AC sub... is there a discord?

I don't know of an AC Discord.

Out of curiosity I poked my head in there tonight to see how things are.

One poster was calling another a moron because EVERYONE knows you can get SQD ahead of time from the co-pay on an eUpgrade.

...I appreciate this board, its educated user base, and its diligent and knowledgeable moderation, is what I'm saying here.

Nice to hear from you Dorian. I don't fly very much any more so I only drop in occasionally. But it's good to remember the old days when we actually had some influence. Now I just coach my daughter in working through the system. albeit on UA.

Had lunch with Parnel. ( some here may remember him?)

That's a coincidence; I was just thinking about him the other day. He and NordsFan helped me a great deal in December 2009 when I needed help getting my terminally ill wife back home from CDG.
