[Targeted] Earn 2X SQM, SQS and SQD in Flex fares and above, booked by Sept 27, 2024
Just received this email, not sure if it's targeted.
Earn 2X SQM, SQS and SQD on all eligible Air Canada® flights booked by Sept 27, 2024, for travel by Nov. 30, 2024. Eligible flights include Air Canada—operated flights wholly within Canada and between Canada and the United States, Mexico or the Caribbean, in Flex fares and above. That might give me some motivation to do some end-of-year mileage run to reach the next status. |
Offer Booking Period: September 25, 2024 at 00:01 NT and September 27, 2024 at 23:59 PT
Sounds like existing booked flights aren't eligible unless you cancel and rebook |
Got the same offer. Luckily I've got everything planned out so no need for a mileage run.
|
Would the promo be revoked if a booking was made, and then dates later changed? Still within the date range terms of the promo, but modified after the end of the promo? I have to book a trip before Nov, but the dates aren't solid yet.
|
Received e-mail as well. Have already re-qualified for SE
|
Does cancelling and rebooking usually work on something like this?

I would be nice if flights already booked would count so long as you "click to register."
I've got a mileage run coming up next week that will give me the SQD for SE. I'm already well past the SQM qualification threshold so don't need that boost per se, but would be nice to have some extra to roll over for next year's qualification. However, looking at my flights, the cost of the ticket is now more than double what I paid, and so not worth cancelling and rebooking. |

Yep received this as well. To confirm this is applicable to multiple round trips right?

Offer: Earn two (2) times Status Qualifying Miles (SQM), Status Qualifying Segments (SQS) and Status Qualifying Dollars (SQD) by flying any eligible round trip or 2 eligible one‑way trips in Eligible Fare Options to Eligible Destinations, when booked with cash between September 25, 2024 at 00:01 NT and September 27, 2024 at 23:59 PT and traveled between September 25, 2024 and November 30, 2024. so any Round Trips or 2 one-way pairs in the same PNR should qualify. |
Got this too. If it is targeted it isn't done well as I am well over SE re-qualification in both SQM and SQD.
Also considering it is North America only it also isn't very interesting. I'm not going rush to book some upcoming travel this week just to get x2 SQM/SQD on YOW-YYZ-ATL or whatever. |
Nope. I did not get this email. (I have no status)
|
I've read the T&C and understand this obviously applies only to cash bookings, which usually means it excludes areoplan redemptions. Does anyone have experience with similar past promotions using a flight pass? I'm wondering if a new FP booking would qualify.

Fares paid with cash but how about AC wallet credit? I have a couple segments worth in mine

MrsITAG is SE and is 10,000 miles short of SE qualification. She got the offer. We'll cancel and rebook some upcoming trips on flight passes to get her the SQM.
I'm SE and have already qualified, and did NOT the offer. That's too bad, because I would have gladly done some YYZ-YVR turns to add some SQM to my rollover for next year. |

This is how I know AC Digital Marketing and overall retention strategy is busted. I did not receive the offer, yet have two round trips in the target period I would happily cancel and rebook at a higher fare in order to get closer to requalifying. Same butt going the same distance for more money, and then possibly putting me close enough to incentivising me to consider a huge mileage run to hit SE. Missed opportunity AC! Probably a good explanation for the tight $15-$17 band the share price wallows in...
|
I have received the email. I'm SE, with low SQM and currently sitting on 78 SQS and slightly over 26k SQD. Doubling the SQS on my next trip here is definitely welcome. Trip booked.
|
My spouse & I were targeted but our child was not.
I guess they will understand if we leave them in a MLL while we briefly* go searcing for different food? *based on offer geographic terms, maybe we will be hungry for Jamaican jerk chicken, Mexican tacos, or Hawaiian shaved ice! Or all 3. |
|
I am 5K short on SQD for requalifyimg for SE, so this is definitely welcome.
2 questions: Would this work with a WCP (companion pass) with both persons getting double SQM & respective SQD (much lower for companion? What about codeshares (for example connecting in the US on United on a 014 ticket)? Thanks in advance….JF13 |

No registration required right? I didn't see any links, just want to make sure!
I was just speculating that it would be a nice option to have for those that have already booked flights to get this extra bonus SQx. |
Is it possible to cancel + re-book something that uses a companion pass already?
Or do you lose the WWCP / have to wait for it to be re-deposited... ? |

Mostly this saves me from the endless fake sales and spam, but I worry that I will miss targeted promos for SQD, SQM, status retention, etc. |
Received it (not close to requalifying thus far), wondering if two separate one-way PNRs would count?

This term seems pretty clear, but I am assuming a United operated flight on 014 ticket stock would not be eligible.

What about a 016 ticket with AC operated flights? Would be eligible for SQM/SQD. I can't find anything in the fine print to definitively say one way or the other. Booking SFO-YVR, it's sometimes cheaper to buy the same flights through UA.
|
I received the email. I'm at around 280,000 SQM for the year (19,000 SQD). This promotion should help push me past the 300,000 SQM bonus.
I have a flight from YWG-JFK, from Nov 19 - Dec 1. The TOR states that this booking applies to RT's/two one ways booked for travel between Sept 25 - Nov 30. I'm trying to decide if it's worth booking this as two separate one way's just in case the first leg does qualify - travel in the first one way leg would be completed but not the return (barely). |
Does the class of service bonus get doubled as well too? I am assuming yes?
Eg: Flight is 1000 base miles Book Premium economy = 250 bonus miles = 1250 miles x 2 = 2500 miles total? |

I received this offer as an SE that has not yet requalified. I was coming up short about 5k SQD on my projections so this will definitely help me out if I use it right.
If you use a promo code on the booking does this still apply? Or is it no longer a published fare? If you make the booking during the window but make changes to it after, but still fly within the specific window, does this promo still apply? |

I did exactly that earlier today. If you cancel an existing booking involving a companion pass, it will be reinstated to your account in a matter of minutes (assuming it hasn't expired) and you can reuse it.
And re: this promo... trying to recall if this was around the same time as promos in previous years, or if there may be more coming... |

This Offer will be in addition to any other offers available and subject to the respective requirements and offer end dates. |
