I'm actually waiting to write in about an issue there.
My booking flow (and email confirmation) said I'd be in business on a partner, and I ended up being seated in economy. So it does happen where the website (and email) say you'll be in a higher cabin. Mind you in my case, it continued to say it, so I was surprised at check-in. |
I can attest that the AC website doesn't label mixed cabin for many flights throughout the booking process and right up till check out AND the confirmation screen. See my original post please. It is only when the pdf arrives that it shows. This is a glitch in their system.
You shouldn't have to explain to anyone about your child. AC messed up here, call them and explain the booking error THEY made. They are quite familiar with this issue and get alot of calls about it. Lastly, if you really want to book with ac, call them and make the booking on the phone with them (I don't recommend this) or book premium economy with another star alliance airline for the same flights. Just find out the codeshare flight numbers for (say united? Swiss? Sq? Etc), call that airline and give them the flight numbers you want to book. It will be the same AC flight you want but ticketed by another airline with a more competent booking system.

It's unbelievable that AC isn't fixing this! Honestly I think I might contact cbc about this.
This is a screenshot from the booking confirmation email for which I had my issue. https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...f240fa35d4.png |

I just realized mine wasn't even a codeshare. But I don't know if this problem is really related to codeshares, or just booking on partners in general.

this happens to me all the time. The flight from cork/dublin to LHR with EI is always an “ACXXXX” flight but then gets changed to “EIXXX”. So I end up earning no SQS/SQD. I they they are not a star alliance partner that’s why?

Mine was never a codeshare. That screenshot is from the initial booking email. And there were definitely lie-flat seats on the aircraft.

I may be wrong but I thought EI's 320s are Economy Class only. Their A321LRs have lie-flat seat in their narrow-body fleet but they don't operate that type of aircraft between DUB/ORK and LHR.
I just know what AC sold me, and that I walked through a lie flat J cabin on my way to my Y seat assignment. |
OK, so just booked some codeshare SQ along with AC Premium Econ to SIN. The AC confirmation has AC flight numbers for the SQ segments. I was able to pull up the SQ flights on the SQ app and was able to select seats in row 32 on their 777-300ER which is in fact the Premium Econ section. I feel reasonably comfortable and have an email that SQ sent me confirming the seat assignments and I subsequently emailed myself the AC booking that also notes the same seat assignments. I feel reasonably OK about things although I am also reasonably sure I won't win any arguments with SQ staff if they refuse to honour said seat assignments!!

Sorry yes that segment. Do you think it's worth following up to see if they will reward those? Because EI is not a part of *A so I think it doesn't earn anything even though its on 014 stock
