Well. There goes AC’s OTP again.

Flying out early tomorrow morning from T1 transborder, hopefully everything will be back to normal then.

But this time, they can officially blame the airport.

Hopefully you have Nexus. Every unsold seat is probably going to get filled by those rescheduled from tonight, or planeloads that didn’t take off tonight rescheduled to tomorrow AM.

"Update As seen in the background, many inbound international flights to Toronto are being held at the deicing pads. Gates & customs severely limited at T1. Some flights will be directed to T3 for clearance. Airlines are asking passengers to be patient. It may be a while still."

When I had a 20' delay waiting for a ground crew at the conclusion of AC877 last week I was crawling out of my skin. I can't even imagine. I'm a filthy smoker so by the end of even a TCON I am READY to get off that aircraft. Sorry this is happening to you.

exactly . 5 hours before departure and I see they already delayed the flight by two hours...yet all other departures during that time frame are on-time.

I’m going to save the rmks on that for posterity ;-)

The captain came on at 10:35 and said they were halting boarding and going with what we had on board. I think quite a few people were offloaded. I guess I should be happy the concierge told
me to boot it and that I made my flight ... a lot of people had much worse nights I am sure.

Hopefully somebody at Pearson and/or Air Canada learn from this - the lack of communication was astounding. I sat around refreshing Twitter for 3 hours trying to figure out what was going on.

Damage is not too bad. Seems constrained to the back of the duty free store. Restaurant on the other side doesn’t show sign of damage although they are currently closed. There is a persistent fire smell and a couple of flights delayed.

Finally got off the aircraft at 11:24 - three hours after touchdown.

Good thing the IFE was working... I decided to start watching a movie figuring I'd pick the tail end of it up on a flight later this week and ended up watching the whole thing while waiting on the ground.

The terminal itself had a bit of a campfire smell to it and they had big fans trying to clear the air. Otherwise it was "business as usual" with lots of people milling about and lots of people waiting for bags.

I'm off to PHX this evening, so will be interesting to see

Just saw the damage, definitely was not as bad as I thought. Airport does smell like campfire...

i feel like AC is using this incident as an excuse to delay flights.

did you you bring your mattress? Now available for seamless service on flights with dead seats and now for camping at airports between long flights 🙏🏽

Sorry, couldn’t resist.
I’m in for some barbecue at the airport as well
