Meghan Markle travels to Canada alone on Air Canada?

https://www.express.co.uk/news/royal...s-prince-harry

Markle flew from LHR to YYZ on Air Canada. Wonder if she flew J, or PE, or Y? Thoughts?
Article says Kensington Place asked "that the airline was asked to protect the Duchess' privacy during her flight". I presume the Concierge helped?

Or VIP status?

Surely AC would grant her.

This. There is no way she’s flying anything other than J and being escorted the entire way.

AC is an odd choice though. I’d expect BA F to be the preferred choice for several reasons. If going commercial at all which I believe is rare.

Disagree.

Also this might explain why the choice of AC, assuming price and schedule were less of an issue.

Interesting, I had no idea. Assumed even as a fairly successful actress she’d be flying up front to avoid attention if nothing else but clearly not always.

"Eschews" LOL

This article also includes photos of concierges in the concierge office and one of AC's BMWs.
Also, he wonders whether she will fly AC back to London and try the Signature Suite.

LOL. I'm also waiting for some writer to compare BA's first class to AC's first class.

She is known to pull the usual publicity stunt to fly Y, as does the royal family. That said they typically fly with bodyguards and I would presume she would fly with them given her real "status" now.

I guess if one sits in a middle seat in Y between two large bodyguards that could be considered inconspicuous

Junior royals take business rather than first on longhauls, and economy on shorthaul, for PR reasons

Sometimes ,the Canadian taxpayer foots the bill as well.
In 2016, William ,Kate and the children had $228,000 worth of taxpayer funded flights in Canada.
What class of service that that would be is open to discussion.

At least she can't be accused of cheapening the cabin.

AC’s J is light years ahead of BA’s in both hard and soft product. And given BA’s problems with Rolls Royce engines on its 788/9 fleet there’s a high chance that none of its flights between LHR and YYZ will have an F cabin due to last minute aircraft swaps. (BA J is as bad as UA’s sardine can 2-4-2 vs AC’s 1-2-1.) Also, as a former cast member of “Suits” she’d likely have been flying AC since the production company would have a corporate contract with the airline, so have STAR status (not that miles and status means anything now.) Given AC and AA have non stops to/from LAX, with AC having the most frequencies and an international cabin J service, it is the choice for American production companies shooting in Canada. (Though during TIFF AA adds a daily flight with its 3-cabin A321T F/J/Y premium transcon service for Hollywood celebs and execs as US studios have corporate contracts with that airline.)

Only when travelling on official Royal tours. Personal travel is covered by each Royal’s official or personal budgets/finances.
