Sorry, I did not meant for EYW to run smoother as a result. More along the lines of "our new branded fare rules and pricing may not sit well with you off so let's throw a bunch of bonus miles so that this potentially feels more acceptable..."

Question: if one were to make a booking today (April 4), then change it tomorrow (after EYW starts and within the 24 hour free change window), would the revised reservation be considered eligible for EYW?

No. The PNR must be created after the launch.

no, changing it does not update the original ticketed date. based on your example above you would need to cancel/refund then completely rebuy it to get an April 5th date.
EXCEPT you can likely buy today to qualify for EYW if you wait till at least 8:01pm EST (just 30min from the time of my post!). It will then be April 5th GMT. Thus far, EYW rules for ticket dates have gone by GMT because that is how the back end ticket system get s timestamped.
